Winter '01
Summer '02

" Picture Perfect "

We have been vacationing in Whistler, B.C. for over 10 years and fell in love with the area the first time we ventured into this back country.  There are so many things to do from snow skiing to snow shoeing in the winter and golfing to bike riding in the summer.  We originally planned to only use our place in the summer and rent the rest of the year but we've ended up using it year around.

We always seem to have good luck when we go up skiing.  It's not uncommon to wake up to several feet of new snow which provides some pretty interesting wipe outs (ask the boys about the time someone lost a ski).  Zach and Cody have mastered the art of snowboarding but I'm still working on the skis.  Lisa is content with sitting in front of nice warm fire reading a book or taking the dog for a walk.  The scenery is a living Christmas Card, very pretty with mountains and trees as far as the eye can see.

Many people don't realize that there is as much to do in the summer as winter.  We've golfed at the local golf courses and often take mountain bike trails around the valley.  They run the Whistler gondola to the top for site seeing, hiking and mountain bike descents.  The mountain bike descents can be treacherous (ask Lisa to show you the scars) with wild life all around.  The black bears are very common in the area which often leads to close encounters.  Cody actually had one dart in front of him while mountain biking so we often take bear bells to keep them at a distance.

Everyone should plan a vacation to this very picturesque area.  Check out the pictures to the left and see for yourself.
