" 3rd Place at State " Zach's high school baseball team (Skyline Spartans) had a great year finishing 3rd at state along with winning the Kingco Conference Championship. They were extremely close to playing in the championship game but lost in extra innings to the eventual state champions in the semi-finals. Zach started out the year pitching on the varsity team as a reliever but gradually worked his way into a starting role. He started the consolation game against ODea High School and did extremely well, pitching a six inning shutout leading to a win and 3rd place finish.
